Any time you add a domain name as hosted in some account, you typically set a pair of Name Servers to direct it to that specific provider. On their end, three records are set up automatically the moment the domain address is added - one A record and two MX records. The first one is a numeric address, or IP address, that “tells” the domain where its site is, while the other two are alphanumeric and they indicate the server that deals with the emails for that particular domain address. The site and the e-mail hosting are often considered to be one thing, when they are actually two different services. Having separate records for them will allow you to have them with different providers if you want. For instance, some new provider can have exceptional uptime for your site, but you might not want to switch your e-mail messages from your current host and by employing an A record to point the Internet domain to the first and MX records to have the emails with the latter, you can get the best of both companies. These records are checked when you want to open a site or send an e-mail - in any case, the service provider whose name servers are used for the domain will be contacted to retrieve the A and MX records and if you've set records different from their own, the right web/mail server will then be contacted and you're going to see the needed website or your email will be delivered.

Custom MX and A Records in Cloud Web Hosting

The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with each and every cloud web hosting that we provide, will enable you to see, change and create A and MX records for each domain or subdomain inside your account. From the DNS Records section, you're going to be able to view a list of all hosts in the account in alphabetical order with their corresponding records, so any update isn't going to take you more than a couple of clicks. Creating new records is as simple if, as an example, you would like to use the email services of a different company and they ask you to create more MX records than the default two. Additionally you can set the priority for every MX record by setting different latency. Put simply, when your emails are delivered, the sending server will contact the record with the smallest latency first and if the connection times out, it's going to contact the next one. With our advanced tool, you will be able to handle the records of your domain addresses and subdomains easily even if you have no previous experience with such matters.

Custom MX and A Records in Semi-dedicated Servers

The Hepsia hosting CP, included with our semi-dedicated servers, will allow you to see the A and MX records for each of the domain addresses or subdomains in your account and if required, to edit any of them or create new ones. Managing these records is very easy as all domains/subdomains are going to be listed alphabetically, so modifying a record is as easy as entering it in a box and saving the change. Setting up a new one takes only a few more clicks and in case you experience any difficulties, you can check out our educational videos on how to set up A and MX records. Our system is intuitive enough to be used by individuals with little or no previous experience, yet advanced enough to offer you complete control of all records and to allow you to have different A records even for domain.com and www.domain.com. If you're moving your emails to a different service provider and they ask you to set up more than 2 different MX records, you can select the priority of each one.
